The Deadly Rival Affair (Cozy Mystery) (Daisy...has Daisy solving another murder, along with her friends, Detective Crumble, and Gavin. Everything seems to be right in the world for Daisy. Her friend, Samantha, is planning her own wedding, Daisy just got engaged to her boyfriend, Gavin, who is a private investigator, and even Detective Crumble seems to have a change in his attitude towards Daisy. What could go wrong? Even the town hasn't had any problems in with crime or murders lately. All that changed, very quickly for Daisy. On her way, into her driveway, she almost had an accident with a car racing out of her neighbor's driveway. She heard her neighbor yelling and went to see what had just happened. Eric, her neighbor, usually is very friendly, but acted like he didn't want to tell Daisy everything. She went home and had an uneventful evening. Then, early in the morning, her dog woke her up, and that's when everything went bad. She saw a car, once again, leaving her neighbor's driveway. She went over to see what was going on. Daisy, after entering, through an unlocked door, saw her neighbor, Eric had been killed. After calling the police, she looked around for any clues, as to what could have happened. The police thought it was a robbery gone bad. Not Daisy. She felt her neighbor was killed. This sets the story in motion, for her to once again, try to solve a murder. The pace is steady and a quick read. It has your attention throughout the book.Product details

This story needed a little more character development, but overall was a fun little mystery. Good book for when you need a quick read.

This is so simple minded it should be a cartoon instead of a the short story it is. Sorry I spent the 20 minutes it took me to read the whole thing. No character, no drama, no development... made me hungry for baked goods.
I bought book 1 a couple years ago. I kept adding it to my list read list but did not get to it. Well I got to it and enjoyed it so much I bought the first 10 books. I have enjoyed them all. Daisy is wonderful. The sweet tooth shop sounds great. The interaction between detective Crumble and Daisy is great. Each book is good in its own right. What a good series
The Deadly Rival Affair is another great cozy book about Daisy McDare written by one of my favorite cozy mystery authors, K. M. Morgan. Daisy is an interior decorator who has also become a great little sleuth. She has wonderful friends who are very supportive, and now she has a fiance who loves her very much. I've read all eight books about Daisy and each book proves that the author's writing has matured with experience. I highly recommend these books to readers who enjoy a quick read without vulgarity or descriptive violence.
